  • Hi there guys!

Thanks for playing my promo and I’m really glad that you’re enjoying Nina Kimberly so far, Steve, and I hope you will like it too, Dawn. I really appreciate your kind words. ^_^

  • Thanks, Steve the Yankees lost tonight to Boston!!! Other then that cool show.

  • Oh I’m never going to hear the end of this, am I? ;) Glad you liked the show.

  • Man, they’ve really come a long way in health class technology; when I was in high school ten years ago, it was just a bag of flour that the health teacher initialed to know it was the original. It was fragile enough that it would break if dropped or whatever, but it wasn’t waking anybody up in the middle of the night…

And I’ll attempt to not start a Yankees/Red Sox feud with Jason on your blog, so I’ll just say apology humbly accepted on behalf of Boston. ;)

Hope you guys feel better! Have some chicken soup!

  • Ditto on the chicken soup guys. Can’t wait to meet you guys at the expo. And not just because you’re bringing beef jerky!

  • Hi Guys! I’m enjoying your show, it’s fun hearing about what happens at the end of the world, I mean the Sierra Nevadas.;)
Dawn, I disagree with you about your son taking his “baby” to work. I haven’t meet very many employers who would allow an employee to bring their baby to work. Personally I think it’s unprofessional. Now if your son was hanging out at the fair, then yes he should bring the “baby”. What I think you son should do is have to arrange for a “babysitter” to watch the child while he is at work. I’m surprised the school doesn’t have a process for child-care since it sounds like the students taking part in this experiment are of working ages. It would add to the realism of the project to have to find “child-care”. Since I’m behind on shows I don’t know if you two talk about this on a more recent episode. I would love to hear a update on your son’s project if you haven’t done one already. Thanks! Charles

  • Hi Charles,

Thank you for listening! You bring up a valid point, however, the doll requires a key which is attached to the students wrist and can’t be removed. So when the baby needs attention, the teenager has to insert the key. The school doesn’t offer a babysitter key, so child care is out of the picture and the baby has to stay with the student. The community is very aware of the program and whole heatedly endorses it. So employers accept the program knowing the benefits that come from it. Our teen pregnancy rate has dropped tremendously since the program was started. The teenagers get a good dose of responsibility and reality of what it’s like to take care of a baby full time (For a weekend). The babysitting idea is an approach that would be a good teaching tool as well, but only if the student was required to pay a small sitting fee. Either way, by the end of the weekend our tired oldest said “no baby for me”, so the program helped to reinforce what we have been teaching him.

    Take Care,

    Dawn and Steve
