iTunes doesn’t seem to like our video
May 7th, 2007
I apologize to everyone if you got the download multiple times only to have the file be rejected by iTunes. The weird thing is, if I manually import the file, iTunes will play it. Also, you can watch the video via streaming on the website, so I am at a loss as to what the problem is.
Has anyone had any success with the video downloading via iTunes?
Steve

Great video guys.
I had to manually download it and put it in iTunes to see it. When I did, it added “.txt” extension at the end of the file. Once I removed that, it worked great. When I go straight to your RSS feed it still has the file name as redirect.mp3. Is it possible that feedburner is attaching the .txt to the file because it’s not mp3?
Anyway, great video!

Thank you Matt for the help and I’m glad you liked the video. I ended up removing the video from the Podpress enclosure and inserted it in the Wordpress enclosure. This seems to have worked, so I need to do some more testing with podpress.

Update: Ended up that I needed to define these video files in the mime.types otherwise the server treats them as text files. Good find Matt, you were heading in the right direction!
