Her music is a blend of Soul and Pop with a hint of soulful funk reminiscent of Earth Wind and Fire, and Natalie has the vocals to pull off this mix of genres. I can honestly say that I enjoyed every song on this album and that is a testament to how solid the arrangements and song choices are in this Sophomore release. Natalie should be proud of this release, it’s a good one.

Because you insisted, here’s the unedited screaming version. I also added video from a minute before the lightning struck so you can get an idea of how hard it was raining. From what i understand, it went through my left hand holding the camera, crossed my back and exited out of my right hand holding onto the metal railing. No entry or exit wounds, just a really good zap!

In my opinion we are being hit by a form of economic terrorism. There is no excuse as to why our country will not tap it’s own untouched oil deposits. Unfortunately, the U.S. has not built any new refineries in years, so even if this country began to drill it’s untouched areas, it may not have the refining capacity to meet the new flow of oil generated by the drilling in these new untouched areas of crude oil. Well back to the horse and buggy :D

The special effects were very good, but did not dominate the movie. I thought the character development when you have only two hours to do so, was done fairly well. I walked away from the movie satisfied and thoroughly entertained. Besides if Dawn likes it, and she did, then it has to be good. Go see it, I think it’s a good date movie, well at least for old farts like Dawn and I. Did I say Dawn was old? No.. I mean.. I’m old and she’s beautiful. :D

We decided to take a break for awhile, however during this break Dawn has taken on a new job which has required her to travel and be in the Sacramento area for four months. Without Dawn, For What Its Worth is not itself, so therefore will not be continued until Dawn returns. We would like to thank every single one of you for your emails and voice mails of support, it has meant a lot to us.

So please do not un-subscribe, as we do not plan to abandon the show and who knows, maybe we can sneak one in now and then.

Ground beef

1 medium onion, peeled and chopped

2 Tbsp tomato paste

2-3 Tbsp chili powder

1 Tbsp cumin

1 ¼ tsp salt

12 oz. Package pasta

3 cups milk

2 Tbsp flour

1 ½ cups cheddar cheese, shredder

1 ½ cups jack cheese, shredded ( pepper jack is also good)

1 ½ cups tortillas chips, broken

 

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13 pan with non-stick cooking spray. Bring a large pot of salted water to boil for the noodles. Add noodles when water is boiling and follow package direction for proper cooking time. Drain and return to pot.

 

In a large skillet cook the ground beef and onion oven medium heat till crumbly and cooked through. Drain grease from meat and return to skillet. Add tomato paste and half the spices. Add ¼ cup water to meat and cook for 1 minute more.

 

In a sauce pan stir together the milk and flour till smooth. Add the rest of the spices. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1 minute till thickened. Remove from the heat and add ½ the cheese and stir till smooth.

 

Now to the pot with the pasta add the meat mixture and the sauce and stir to blend. Pour into the 9 x 13 pan and top with remaining cheese and the crushed tortilla chips and place in the center of the oven. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.

 

Serve with green salad and corn.

An intensive land, air and sea search has been launched in the New Forest to find a missing teenage girl. Rosemary Edwards, 15, left her family home in Wellington Close, Dibden Purlieu, Hampshire, after an argument at about 2230 BST on Tuesday. Specialist police search teams have been drafted in to conduct a fingertip search in and around Rosemary’s home. Police have already conducted inquiries throughout the area and with other forces to find her.

2 Pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast.

1 Package frozen vegetables – broccoli, carrots and water chestnuts (or what ever you can find)

2 Tbsp quick cooking tapioca

1 Cup chicken broth

4 Tbsp brown sugar

4 Tbsp Teriyaki sauce (or oyster sauce if desired)

1 Tbsp dry mustard

2 Tbsp ground ginger

1 ½ Tsp grated orange peal

1 Can pineapple chunks, drained

Rinse Chicken then cut into 1” cubes. Place frozen vegetables in bottom of Crockpot, then add chicken. Then put pineapple on top of chicken. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over top of chicken and pineapple.

Cover and cook low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours. Serve over hot cooked rice.

We got back home Sunday night around 11pm and the last couple of days we were too tired to do a podcast. Yesterday we get a call from my doctor in SF to come back for an appointment Friday, so we will leave again tomorrow for another whirl wind trip. I’m surprised they had an opening so soon and please know this is for a special scan of my back, so this is nothing serious. So, needless to say we will not be putting out a show until after this next trip.

To me this is a real honor and a privilege since I have high respect of O as an awesome artist and person.

If you want to see a great illustrator and webcomic, you need to check out Commissioned. Right now O is running the Commissionathlon which is a series of commissioned work in which he videos his commissioned illustration as he creates it, great stuff. He also comments on what he is doing and why he’s doing it during his videos, which is a great source of information for aspiring and veteran illustrators a like. So if you want to learn some things about illustration, then please visit his sight daily, I do! You can also hear O as a weekly co-host on the highly popular podcast “ExtraLife Radio” which is one of my all time favorites by the way.
